Sensory bags

I made these bags from a variety of materials that were around the house. Image

The fabric is from an old pair of pants. The crinkly bag has the plastic from a water bottle label, the bumpy bag had large beads, the squishy bag has cornstarch and water in a plastic bag (double bagged) the round has a bottle cap, heavy will have sand the the light will have nothing in it, the hard will have a piece of wood in it and the soft has little pieces of left over fabric.

Each bag has a match without any label on it.  Older children could match the bag with the word.  Children who are writing could write a short sentence using the adjective.  Ex. The mud is squishy.

What other things do they know that are squishy?  What other textures could be used for this activity.
